Traditional Maltese Bar & Restaurant

The restaurant itself is a third generation business which opened in the 1930’s when Frenc Azzopardi opened his business as a bar and used to cook fresh rabbits for the British Royal Marines. In 1966 the bar was extended into a restaurant. Frenc’s daughter Rita took over the restaurant and to this day the restaurant is best known as Ta’ Rita (of Rita). Eventually Marika, Rita’s niece took over and has continued to expand the restaurant, including a pizzeria.

The menu at Ta’ Rita is varied, special requests can also be made offering flexibility especially for groups and events. Keeping with tradition Maltese rabbit is probably the most popular dish however you can also find a number of other grills, pastas, pizza, snacks, platters, burgers, breakfast and great specials.

Splendid Views

Ta’ Rita Lapsi View is located in the picturesque area known as Lapsi, from the restaurant you will enjoy splendid views of Ghar Lapsi, deep blue Mediterranean sea and the small island of Filfla. Furthermore, just across from the bar and restaurant is a small park with swings etc which is great if you are visiting with children.

Inside the Bar and Restaurant

The first thing you notice when walking in is that the establishment is large and spacious. The interior is rustic and immediately puts patrons at ease, it is not pretentious and you immediately know what to expect, great food at reasonable prices with friendly service. The second thing you will notice is that the staff are always smiling, you immediately feel that they are happy to have you there and will go the extra mile to ensure you enjoy your time at Ta’ Rita Lapsi view.
