About Swordfish
Pixxispad is the Maltese version of Swordfish. This type of fish has a round elongated body, known for its flat long sword-like upper beak for slashing their prey and also helps them swim at high speeds, breaking through the water. Swordfish are usually found in temperate parts of the Atlantic, Pacific, Mediterranean sea.
How is Swordfish caught
Swordfish are commonly caught by surface long lines, harpoon, drift gill net. These fish can grow up to 14 feet long and they are known to put up quite a fight for their survival. The peak season for swordfish is usually found during spring and summer seasons.
