Italy is one of the oldest wine-producing countries, known worldwide for the broad variety of Italian wines. There are over 350 grape varieties that grow in every region of Italy with more than one million vineyards under cultivation. Various wines blend very well with various kinds of food.

Salmon | Malta

Salamun is the Maltese version of Salmon. They are found in the Northern Atlantic and Pacific oceans, most types of salmon are born in fresh water, migrate to the open sea and return to freshwater to reproduce. There are five species of salmon all different in appearance.

Swordfish | Malta

Pixxispad is the Maltese version of Swordfish. This type of fish has a round elongated body, known for its flat long sword-like upper beak for slashing their prey and also helps them swim at high speeds, breaking through the water. Swordfish are usually found in temperate parts of the Atlantic, Pacific, Mediterranean sea.

Pagell | Malta

It is also known as the Common Pandora, a fish coming from the sea bream family. It is found in the Atlantic ocean, from Scandinavia to Cape Verde in Portugal as well as in the Mediterranean sea. The fish live near the coasts at 200m to 300m depth.

Octopus | Malta

It is found in tropical and moderate water around the world. They can grow to 1.3 m and weigh up to 10 kg. The octopus is considered the most intelligent of all invertebrates. Like a chameleon, octopus can match itself to the colours and patterns and textures of the surroundings so predators like sharks, eels and dolphins swim by without noticing the camouflage.

Lampuki | Malta

It is a fish also known as Dorado fish or Mahi Mahi. The migratory fish are found in Maltese waters between the end of August till end of November. The Dolphin fish is known to grow fast in fact local fishermen catch a lot of them weighing 1 kilo to 1.5 kilos so the fish fits nicely on a plate.
