Giuseppi’s has been run by Michael Diacono, a self-taught chef, for the last 20 years. Michael has worked in the food industry from a very young age and has been invited to appear on quite a few TV shows both locally and abroad including La Prova Del Cuoco on the Italian Channel RAI in October 2008.

Together with assistant chef Mark Cauchi and thanks to our passion for food, Giuseppi’s has built a solid reputation for fine dining. The staff are warm and welcoming and the lovely Denise Mellish, working front of house, goes through the specials of the day meticulously, enticing the clients’ palate without being too overbearing. Occasionally, Michael Diacono comes out to mingle with the guests as they dine adding that personal touch to make them feel more at home. We like the setting to be informal and the authentic Maltese rustic furnishings coupled with the lighting and soft music add a certain charm. There are plans to have a private room for about eight people in the near future for a more intimate setting.

Giuseppi’s tantalising dishes are plenty and make your choice harder. The menu changes frequently with different specials offered everyday. Some favourites include the deep fried goat’s cheese, fresh tuna with ground coffee and grilled, fresh, red local prawns, quail and rabbit with warm chocolate sauce. Other specials are the grilled calamari as well as the lamb.

Make sure to leave enough room for our exquisite home made sweets which includes a choice of Maltese warm imqaret with ice-cream, hot chocolate fondants, pannacotta and creme brulee as well as lemon cheesecake.

Giuseppi’s also boasts of a climatised wine cellar with an extensive list of over 200 different wine labels.

The key to Giuseppi’s success has been our strong commitment to our customers to ensure nothing but the very best in gastronomical experiences. Fresh ingredients are used – from local goat’s cheese that is personally dropped off at the restaurant on a daily basis to the asparagus brought over from Gozo and the fish which is caught by local fishermen.

The restaurant has received numerous awards from The Definitively Good Guide in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2009.
