Nursery School Malta
About Victoria Nursery School
The school was established way back in January 1992. It will soon celebrate its 20th Anniversary. It is situated in San Pawl tat-Targa, limits of Naxxar. An area where the road traffic is very light and parking is available.
It is fully licensed by the Ministry of Education (Kindergarten) as well as by the Ministry of Social Policy (Child Care). In 2008 the then President of the Republic H.E. Dr E Fenech Adami visited the school, whilst in 2011 H.E. Dr G Abela invited the school to the official opening of the President’s Kitchen Garden in Attard.
The school is run by Mrs Marie Galea, with the support of a qualified headmistress, kindergarten assistants and carers. The dedicated and qualified team together with the school’s good reputation are the main ingredients for its continuing success.
The school operates four classes: – Nursery, Reception, Kinder I and Kinder II for children aged between eighteen months and five years.
The school hours are 08.30 to 12:00 for Nursery and Reception and 08:30 to 13:00 for Kinder I and Kinder II.
For the convenience of parents, extended hours can be arranged starting from 07:30 to 15:00.
The school has spacious, bright, airy classrooms, an indoor air-conditioned play area and a very large, safe outdoor play area for the children to enjoy themselves. The premises are compliant with the health and safety requirements e.g. soft flooring and non-slip floor tiles.
Children wear high quality, practical and smart summer and winter uniforms.
The school adopts an open door policy and feed-back on the child’s progress is given constantly to parents. At the start of each scholastic year the school organizes a Parent’s Meeting to explain the school regulations and activities in greater detail as well as an Open Day / Welcoming Activity. Parents of children attending the school are eligible for Tax Rebates from the Inland Revenue Department.
The school’s aim is to give the children a fun experience of playing and learning as well as providing them with an early educational experience. This includes recognition of letters, numbers, colours and shapes. The children are taught crafts, singing and role play – creativity excels at the school.
We also encourage healthy eating habits and physical education sessions are carried out on a weekly basis. Maximum attention is given to the children at all times; nappies are changed whenever necessary. Social activities and outings are organized throughout the scholastic year. All children are prepared for a smooth transition from Pre-primary to Church, Independent or State Primary schools.
