About Blue Creek Restaurant in Lapsi
Delicious Food, Selected Wines, Warm Service, Family Feeling. Blue Creek, the restaurant on the water’s edge at Ghar Lapsi.
On exploring the South west of Malta you have to make sure to visit the Megalithic Temples. These are amongst the most ancient religious sites on Earth, described by the World Heritage Sites committee as “unique architectural masterpieces”. The temple of Hagar Qim c. 3600 – 3200 BC stands on a hilltop overlooking the sea and the islet of Filfla. Mnajdra is a complex site consisting of three temples overlooking an oval forecourt. The first and oldest temple dates back to 3600-3200 BC, while the most impressive of the temples is the third, constructed between 3150-2500 BC. This temple is perhaps the finest surviving on the Islands. The Lower Temple has a particular astronomical alignment and at the Equinox, the rays of the sun pass strategically through specific areas of the temple.
The Blue Grotto is a photo opportunity that you should not miss. You can also take a boat trip that goes in right under the immense arch into a 50 meter high cave cut into the rock face.
All this sightseeing will surely work wonders on your appetite and for your personal restoration you have to make sure that you do not miss out on Blue Creek the restaurant on the water’s edge at Ghar Lapsi.
Ghar Lapsi is a small rocky inlet 1 km south-west of the Blue Grotto. It lies below a stretch of Dingli Cliffs. It is a popular natural beauty spot and is used by a few fishermen. In summer, the inlet turns into natural swimming pool. The rocky shoreline here is perfect for snorkeling enthusiasts and the inlet makes a good entry point for divers.
Whilst taking in the breathtaking views from the restaurant terrace you have to remember and order the signature dish. This takes the form of a thick fish soup, but fans of the restaurant refer to it as the essence of the Mediterranean Sea put in a plate. The fish display reflects the daily catch, and our Maltese delicacies are all sourced from artisanal producers. Most of the vegetables we use are grown bio dynamically. The menu ranges from fresh salads to mouthwatering pasta, from meat to vegetarian specialities. The restaurant also stocks a vast selection of Maltese wines.
We specialize in authentic Mediterranean cuisine and fresh fish dishes.
