A cozy family run restaurant set in the heart of Sliema, Il-Merill is situated in a quiet street, tucked away from the hustle and bustle, yet just a few metres away from the waterfront.
Patrick is behind the delicious food that is served by his better half, Melanie. Their main aim is to ensure that patrons should feel at home, while being hosted by family or friends. A variety of Maltese traditional dishes, including rabbit (sautéed or stewed), octopus stew, bragoli (beef olives), home made and the popular Maltese platter, are served alongside other continental dishes, such as Patrick’s famous ribs or his take on the Italo-American seafood cioppino. A select choice of fresh fish is also constantly available, while varying specials are at the order of the day.
Complementing the scrumptious food is a variety of local and international wines, which will undoubtedly satisfy all palates. Desserts are freshly prepared according to season or Patrick’s whim. Thus sweets are not menu items but rather a matter of sweet surprise!
The family at Il-Merill warmly welcome patrons with a smile at all times. However, bookings are still highly recommended, since the place seats a maximum of 32 diners.
