About Point De Vue in Malta, Rabat

The Point de Vue is a small, family-run Guest House dating back to the 17th century. The Guest House is situated just outside the fortified city of Mdina, the Silent City. The family who took over the property has roots both in Malta and South Africa, and its African roots has provided the inspiration on the African twist of the Butcher’s Grill menu.

The Point de Vue does not only cater for patrons with a historic and cultural interest but also for travelers who prefer the less inhabited areas of Malta. The surrounding countryside of Rabat, the nearby cliffs in Dingli and Buskett, the only woodland area in Malta, provide travelers with many amazing walks and hikes. The Point de Vue is an ideal preference for travelers who do not wish to miss the opportunity to use Mdina as their base and starting point for their visit around Malta, but who are also looking for value-for-money when it comes to their holiday accommodation.

The Point de Vue has 12 twin and double rooms all with private ensuite facilities. Many of the rooms enjoy breathtaking views over the Rabat countryside. The other rooms overlook the magnificent skyline of Mdina. All rooms are equipped with Cable TV and cooling / heating facilities.

Visitors can also enjoy some of the most spectacular views on the island from the Point de Vue’s restaurant, the Butcher’s Grill, but also from many of its rooms.

Overlooking the magnificent views of the Rabat countryside, the Butcher’s Grill rates as one of the finest and more innovative restaurants on the island. Its menu introduces patrons to traditional continental dishes served with a distinct African flair. Offering Starters & Salads, Breakfast, Pasta & Pizza, Seafood, Meat Grills, Desserts. The recipes are uniquely African and the spices are imported directly from South and East Africa, mainly from the Land of Spices itself, Zanzibar.

The Grill also welcomes bookings for special functions and celebrations.

Beenhere a couple of time and never let down. The great thing about this place is that if you are a big group, there are enough things on the menu to satisfy everyone.

The sheer variety of delicious cusine at value-for-money prices is unbeatable. I tend to choose pasta, pizza, fresh fish and rabbit dishes but this restaurant caters from all tastes … from Burger-and-chips freak right up to sofisticated Cordon Bleau buff.
